Homework for Week 10 (due 11/14)
Great job on your research papers. We're moving on to a new writing project; are you excited?
Assignments:
1. Last Chance to finish up all incomplete work through the end of Unit 1, Module 4.
2. We briefly went over the Unit 1 Review in class; record your responses in your book. (pages 114-116)
3. Complete all of the assignments shown for Unit 2, Week 10 above, and on the schedule in your in your book page xxvii).
Notes:
Next week is the last chance to turn in work to receive credit for anything in Unit 1, Modules 1-4.
With Unit 2, we are beginning a new project: writing a paper to convince your family to take a dream vacation together with you!
As you read through your readings, think back to our first unit. What pages did you find yourself referring back to? Did you need to re-examine the expert model, or look back to see how to format a part of your paper? Make notes in your book as you do each week's readings. Fold down corners to bookmark pages you think you may need to look back at.
As part of this new project, you will conduct an interview with at least two people who have experience planning a vacation. (See pages 136-137.) Take a look ahead at these pages in module 5.10, and think about who you would like to interview.
Some of you will be seeing family members over Thanksgiving who might be perfect for your interview. I will be asking you in class next week to tell me their names.
