Module 9.9
We completed this assignment in class.
If you were not there or left early, these are the answers we came up with in class:
- Did my dad face hardships as a child?
- How did my dad overcome those hardships?
- Were there any hardships that my dad could not overcome?
- Was my dad a hard worker?
- Did my dad have any special talents?
Expert Model: What? Cutting the top off an egg?
In our Expert Model, the writer told us that his (one-armed) dad had never mastered cutting the top off a boiled egg. Well, this caused quite a commotion in class, as the students had never heard of this action.
Below is an extremely fun video of how to cook, cut, and eat soft-boiled eggs!
(be sure to dance to the swaggy music AND groan in disgust at this woman's dirty toaster!)

Extra Credit:
Make soft-boiled eggs and "toast soldiers" for your family!
Discuss the Expert Model, and the hardships that Mr. Dahl's dad had as a child.
Have your parent put a note in your book stating that you did this!
