WIR2 Homework – Week 17
(as listed on the weekly schedule in our book)
This is it…the final draft! If you have done a thorough job of revising step by step, there should be a noticeable difference between this and your first draft.
Homework due January 23rd includes the following:
1. Complete: -All assignments listed for Week 17 above and on the schedule in your book.
2. Put your books and folders in our class bin (or on the counter) in the basement kitchen before first hour next Wednesday. I will be grading them over the next few weeks.
Notes:
8.11: Reread your paper again. Add modifiers, such as colorful adjectives where they will strengthen your argument. Use adverbs sparingly.
8.12: Next read through to check for grammar, punctuation, and capitalization. Ask an older sibling or adult to proofread for you.
8.13: Examine the Student’s Rubric. Have you done your best to satisfy every point?
8.14: Present your paper to your fellow travelers. Ask for follow-up questions about your proposal. Write answers to any objections into your paper.
8.15: Type up one last draft with any final changes as recommended by your readers.
8.16: Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of your argument with your readers. This can be done over the course of the next week.
8.17: Word Sleuth… list at least three new words that you would like to continue to use in your writing.
Review: Don’t forget to complete this! This is an evaluation of the skills you have learned in this unit. You can look back through Unit 2 to help you answer the questions.
Please contact me before Tuesday, if you have any questions.

the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.”

This morning I took out a comma and this afternoon I put it back again.
