Week 3
Homework for Week 3
The homework for this week begins in your TB/WB on pg. 36, and goes to pg. 53.
This week's homework finishes up Module 2 and goes into the first part of Module 3.
Module 2
Module 3
The main goal of these assignments is to rearrange the order of your 10 sentences.
Prizes:
Anyone who completes every assignment this week, turns in their work, and places their book in the bin will earn a reward!
This is not meant to penalize those who are falling behind, but to reward those who have been extra diligent, and to inspire everyone to complete each week's full and complete assignment.
This textbook was pretty expensive, and we want you to learn as much as you can from it.
Extra Credit
Module 2.8, The History of Your Name, is Extra Credit.
If you complete this assignment, you will earn a reward!
Our Grammar Playground has a Capitalization page (under Mechanics), full of charts, videos and games to reinforce the capitalization rules. If you spend 1 hour on the capitalization page, have your parents write me a note on the Module 2 Checklist page and let me know. If they indicate that you have spent 1 hour on the Capitalization page, you will earn a reward!
Are You Falling Behind?
If you are behind in your homework, please keep working to get caught up!
I will not penalize you for turning in late work (other than not earning prizes).
In fact, you can continue to earn points when you turn in your late work.
Please don't skip any assignments, other than the Extra Credit work.
All of the assignments have value and will teach you something important.
Questions, Comments, Suggestions?

The homework for this week begins in your TB/WB on pg. 36, and goes to pg. 53.
This week's homework finishes up Module 2 and goes into the first part of Module 3.
- Please complete all exercises shown on the photo above.
- Check the boxes in your Daily Schedule when you have completed the assignments.
Module 2
- Be sure also to check "Done" on the Module 2 Checklist (pg. 43-44 in the combined TB/WB) when you have completed your assignments.
- This week, we will again revise the 10 sentences that we wrote during Week 1 (Module 1.9 Write Your Memory Sentences). This week, you will take a careful look to be sure all of the personal names and proper nouns are capitalized.
- Please make the necessary changes, then re-print or re-write your 10 sentences.
- Don't forget to add words to your Word Collection.
Module 3
The main goal of these assignments is to rearrange the order of your 10 sentences.
- Cut your sentences into individual strips, then rearrange them in ways that make sense.
- For instance, arrange them by topic: all sentences about doing the same thing should be placed near each other in your complete story.
- Also try arranging them in chronological order, that is the events that happened first are placed first in your story, and the events that happened later are placed later in your story.
- You will not have to choose which order makes the most sense for your sentences this week. Just play around with the order of your sentences, and see which ones make the most sense, and the clearest picture in the minds of your readers.
