WIR2: Week 4 Homework
1. Complete: Everything shown in the Daily Schedule for week 4 at the top of this page.
2. Watch: “How to write a notecard for research projects” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCO9GWvq_Kc
3. Check off: Boxes on your Daily Schedule and on your module 2 checklist (pgs. 68-70)
4. Drop off your book and all your work (make sure your name is on everything!) in the “Writing Level 2” crate when you arrive at co-op on Wednesday.
Please use this week to get caught upon all unfinished work.
Be sure to entirely complete each assignment to the best of your ability.
One response is not enough, when the instructions ask for more!
Library Visit:
I am still working on setting up a library tour. Until then, you will have to go yourselves to check out books for your research paper, and to complete your homework this week.
Module 2.6:
Look up your topic on the library website. Record the best resources you find on the chart. Go take a look at these to see if you should check them out from your library.
When your assignment asks you for the reasons for your choices, be specific.
Module 2.18: Find an Expert:
Stay tuned regarding a wildlife field trip for our class. If you can, take a trip with your family to the zoo or nature center and talk to an expert about your animal. If you cannot visit, you can try to do a phone interview. Be sure to have your questions ready before you call!
If no interview can be done this week, skip over this assignment for now.
Note Taking:
Begin taking notes. Watch the video again, if you need more help. You can also learn more about note taking from the following website:
https://www.gallaudet.edu/tutorial-and-instructional-programs/english-center/the-process-and-type-of-writing-/pre-writing-writing-and-revising/the-note-card-system
As you come across unfamiliar words in your research, don’t forget to add them to your Word Sleuth chart in module 2.20!
