Unit 3 Week 11 Homework
(with a bonus peak at Week 12)
(with a bonus peak at Week 12)
The main assignment this week
is to prepare for the interview by writing good questions and taking etiquette into consideration.
Schedule an appointment for your interview. It may be over the phone, in person, on video chat, etc.
Module 9.10 Twenty Questions
Come up with at least ***20*** questions to ask the person you are interviewing.
The questions in Mod 9.1 (pg 171), Mod 9.9 (pg 181 and 182) could be used for some of these 20 questions.
One question you SHOULD ask first is this:
"Does one of our relatives, even one who passed away before I was born, have an amazing life story that I should know about?"
Maybe you have decided to interview Aunt Sally, and write about Aunt Sally's life.
But, maybe her grandmother, who passed away 30 years ago, had an amazing experience!
Be flexible!
Module 9 Checklist Just Do It
A few of you have decided to ignore these pages.
If you want points awarded, please check the Done boxes on this checklist!
Module 10.3 Interview Etiquette
Be polite! Be prepared! We did this assignment in class.
For the Your Turn answer, we wrote: "Give the interviewee a copy of your final draft of this assignment."

How Many Interviews, and How Many People Should I Write About?
Your book refers to multiple interviews about multiple people.
I am changing the assignment.
You are WELCOME to gather information about more than one person, but you are not required to.
For instance, maybe you will be interviewing Aunt Sally with the intent to write about Aunt Sally's life,
but she tells you that her grandmother had an amazing experience!
You may still ask Aunt Sally the questions you had prepared, in advance, for her,
but you may also ask Aunt Sally to tell you her grandmother's story!
You may choose to write about 1 person or both, in that special circumstance.
